About me
Hi! I'm Niklas, a freelance software engineer based in Gothenburg, Sweden. I work with companies and teams to build web applications that are fast, maintainable, and a pleasure to use.
My core expertise is in JavaScript-based technologies — primarily NodeJS on the backend and React on the frontend. I've worked across the full stack, from designing APIs and data models to crafting polished user interfaces. Over the years I've applied this across a range of fields, including personal finance, clinical trials, and security.
As a consultant, I care about more than just shipping code. I enjoy understanding the problems behind the requirements, collaborating closely with the people I work with, and leaving codebases in better shape than I found them.
I graduated from Chalmers University of Technology in 2016 with a bachelor's in Software Engineering and a master's in Computer Science. My master's thesis focused on improving COWL, a W3C standard for confinement of untrusted web content.
When I'm not around the computer you might find me baking sourdough bread or repointing brickwork.
